Epidaurus

Built in a forest, the Epidaurus ancient theater enchants every visitor for its architecture as well as for its excellent acoustics (it is notable that it is perhaps the most acoustically perfect in all of Greece). It is a renowned monument included in UNESCO’s World Heritage Site list as part of the Sanctuary of Asclepius, the god of medicine for the ancient Greeks

The Theater of Epidaurus is the ideal specimen of the achievements and experience of the ancient Greeks on theater construction. Home of the 3rd Century theater, the tragedies of Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides were performed here until the 4th century BC and then continued in 1955 to the present during the Epidaurus festival that takes place from the beginning of July to the end of August.
